What This Site Does

Profit and Fees builds free, accurate calculators for online sellers, content creators and small business owners. The goal is simple: answer the kinds of money questions that get asked every day and rarely get a clear answer, like:

  • What is Etsy actually taking from each sale after fees, transaction costs and taxes?
  • Is Amazon FBA worth it once you account for storage and removal fees?
  • How much does PayPal cost me on a cross-border transaction in EUR?
  • What does a YouTuber with 200K subscribers in the Finance niche realistically earn?
  • What's the break-even price I need to charge after fees, taxes and ads?

Every calculator is built on the official fee structures published by the platforms themselves (Etsy, Amazon, eBay, Shopify, PayPal, Stripe, YouTube and others) and is updated whenever those structures change.

Why We Built This

Most online fee calculators are one of four things: outdated and abandoned, locked behind a SaaS trial, built by the platform itself (which conveniently hides certain costs), or so generic they ignore the variables that actually move the bottom line.

We wanted something independent, free, aggressively updated, and complete — including the hidden fees, currency conversion losses, refund treatment and edge cases that most calculators skip.

Our Editorial Standards

  1. Accuracy first. Every fee figure is verified against the platform's official documentation. The source is cited in the educational content below each calculator.
  2. No hidden bias. We disclose every affiliate program we participate in and we never alter calculator output to favor a partner. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
  3. Privacy by design. Calculations run entirely in your browser. We do not store the values you enter. See our Privacy Policy.
  4. Transparent updates. When a platform changes its fees, we update the calculator and note the effective date.

How We Make Money

  • Display advertising — through Ezoic and Google AdSense.
  • Affiliate commissions — from tools we genuinely recommend (Helium 10, ConvertKit, Printify and others). Full details in our Affiliate Disclosure.
  • Future products — premium templates and educational resources may be available at some point. None are active yet.

We do not sell user data. We do not run sponsored calculators. We do not accept payment to skew results in any direction.
